About Dr. Laura Spiller
Founder of PractiSage
Fueled by an entrepreneurial spirit and seeing her colleagues struggle with isolation, Laura founded the PractiSage Therapist Collective. Practisage provides Houston therapists with professional office space, business resources, and an intentional way for like-minded clinicians to gather and collaborate.
Through her leadership roles on the board of the Houston Psychological Association (HPA) and Houston Community for Emotionally Focused Therapy (HCEFT), Laura’s commitment to community building goes beyond words to concrete action by fostering connectedness and clinical excellence.
She mentors new therapists, guides consultees, hosts community-building events, facilitates training, and freely shares her knowledge with her peers.
Laura owns a thriving specialty practice in Houston that provides Emotionally Focused (EFT) couples therapy, couples intensives, and EFT consultation. Over the past 8 years in Houston, she’s built a joyful, profitable practice that serves her life, her family, her community, and her clients – and is ready to help you do the same.
Rooted in the value of therapist empowerment, Laura brings her experience across a wide range of settings to understand the unique struggles you may be facing as a therapist and practice owner. She is ready to help you overcome them through the power of community, connection, and knowledge.

I love racing across the smooth surface of the lake with the sun sparkling off the surface. In the summer, you’ll find me driving a ski boat for friends and family who have never waterskied or tubed before.

My foodie partners—my 81-year-old mother and my 17-year-old son—and I are on a mission to try every kind of international food Houston offers. Come dine with me at our local networking events!

My idea of relaxation is a couple of days off to purge and reorganize my cabinets and closets. I’ll listen to Outlander or the Inspector Gamache series while I sort out what stays and what goes.

With the ability to find wonder in most things, I often lament the lack of time. If I had infinite time, I would: improve my Spanish, apprentice to a handyman 🛠️ so I can fix all the little household things, transform my small yard into an outdoor oasis, and host dinner parties with people who I know would make an instant connection.

The hard years of raising 2 young boys while my husband fought cancer (a battle he ultimately lost when our boys were 8 and 13) left me with a deep appreciation of the need to live life fully while we can. I regularly take the time to savor all the little things that make life meaningful: cutting open the perfect avocado or hearing my sons laughing together.

When I was back in the dating pool, my profile name on Match.com was Full Catastrophe based on the book by Jon Kabat-Zinn. My friends thought I was ridiculous! However, it captured my desire to embrace all of life - the chaos and the calm.
