Guest Speakers Gabby Rios-Martinez & Lizzie Zabala from Playful Therapy Connections, will discuss the fundamentals of serving neurodiverse clients with a specific focus on ADHD and Autism.

They will cover the common challenges and misconceptions that neurodivergent clients of all ages face. By exploring these challenges, they aim to foster a deeper understanding of the unique needs and perspectives of neurodivergent individuals. This will include information related to social difficulties, sensory needs, executive dysfunction, and more! Additionally, strategies that clinicians can use to create a more supportive and affirming environment for their neurodiverse clients will be discussed.

Finally, Gabby and Lizzie will share our own personal insights being neurodivergent and a part of the Latinx community and how our intersecting identities impact our work with clients.

This is a workshop hosted by our partner community, Mates in Mind, founded by Claudia Salazar. Lunch & Learn meetings have a clinical focus while Guest Speakers and Think Tanks have a business development focus. Beginning in April 2024, the clinical Lunch & Learns will be on the 2nd Monday of the month from 12-1 CT.
